Dana Powers Barn Wedding - Kandace & Weston

Kandace and Weston met at the Tercero Dorms at UC Davis in 2009. The first week of school, Kandace reluctantly agreed to go to a sorority party with some of her new dorm mates. Weston approached her and after some small talk, they found they had a mutual affinity for Percy Shelley. Kandace was impressed Weston knew the lines to "Ozymandius" let alone who Percy Shelley was. They forgot to tell each other their names. Luckily, they found each other again. They eventually reintroduced themselves and learned each others names, becoming fast friends. By their junior year, they spent a minimum of 4 days a week together--mostly drinking beer on the porch. They went hiking in the snow once. Weston was not very coy about their proposal, for Kandace saw it coming from the proverbial mile away. He took her on a hike to the Point Reyes lighthouse, which, if you've been there, know it is quite romantic although the stairs are treacherous. They then dined at Nick's Cove, which Kandace knew to be one of their favorite spots. Between dinner and dessert, Weston walked Kandace out on the dock where Weston proposed. He got down on one knee and everything. Kandace didn't cry which made Weston very nervous.
